War on women and caterpillars

Then there’s RNC Chair ReiNCe PReiBuS, who likens Democrats calling out the “War on Women” as equivalent to them accusing the Republicans of waging War on Caterpillars, which, he says, would make caterpillars worse.  Like Women?  Let’s check out the analogy.  If you make war on caterpillars, you poison them, trap them, squash them, deprive them of food…we can’t say anything about reproductive rights here, because caterpillars don’t reproduce, all they do is…turn into butterflies.  Hmmm, so to continue the analogy—with decades of women being able to plan their families, their pregnancies, their futures, we have had women able to achieve college educations, professional careers, political office—to turn into butterflies.  Can’t have that, can we?  So, let’s give them the caterpillar treatment.
